We both are either still a little jet lagged, or we were SUPER excited about walking with the lions this morning that we were up bright and early at 3am! ;)
We headed to the ALERT (African Lion, Environmental Research Trust) where they allow you to walk with 2 lions (up to 18 months of age) that they have bred in captivity. They are trying to raise lions, and teach them how to survive in the wild so they can increase the lion population (which is now only at 30,000 lions in the wild).
Pretty excited to go on our Lion walk!!
There were 2 sisters we walked with. I think they were a little on the grumpy side because it was pretty early in the morning!
Sitting pretty on the rocks...
Here is the other sister, sitting on the rocks :)
Walking with the lions!! Can't believe this is real!!
We kept forgetting they are still babies (i know they definitely don't look like it) but they were very curious and were ready to play!
Still kind of tired....
Um this is awesome!!

Playing with the sticks!
They kept trying to play with each other!

Walking the trail...
So beautiful!
One of the males they had on the camp. He is about 23 months old so he is too old to walk with people...
